The Country Inns of England

The English country inn is as much a part of the history and scenery of England as its castles, cathedrals and churches. The focal point of  village life for centuries, and still carrying on the tradition of welcoming travellers and offering hospitality, fine food and good ales to this very day.

What better way to see England than to join the untold numbers stretching back into history who have enjoyed the pleasures of the English Country Inn. Imagine sitting by a roaring log fire on a cold winter’s evening or relaxing in a flower filled garden in the summer after a day exploring the lanes and by-ways of England. At the end of the day retiring to the welcome of a room with ancient wooden beams and walls which could tell tales of travellers from times gone by, if only they could talk.

We have devised a tour of England, based on some of the finest country inns in the land. Each one offering a warm welcome and a taste of England unattainable in large, impersonal hotels. With food to delight the palate and an atmosphere to gladden the heart, this will be an experience to treasure. England, how you imagined it should be.

The tour can be either escorted or self-drive, and travels through some of the most scenic parts of the country. Starting from London, heading off via Bath, to Devon and Cornwall, and then back up country to the Cotswolds.

As all of our tours are individually planned, we can of course vary this route if you would prefer to visit another part of the country. But wherever you go, you can be assured of a warm welcome, fine food and an insight to England seldom seen by the ordinary tourist.
